My 1st 2 Tier Stacked Fondant Cake.., For me, who never had a proper lesson on stacked cake construction this was quite a challenge. It wasn't that difficult but unexpectedly a problem arose an hour after i happily finished with the decorating..The sides was bulging..! Yes..it gave me a big headache to overcome the problem so i googled to find some answer to what causing it..Hmm..yerp, i put the filling too much and there's some air bubbles trapped underneath my fondant layer. So i tried to poke the bulging part with a toothpick and let the air released..

I started to pipe minor lace effect to cover the hole and just couldn't stop piping as i find it turning out to be prettier than before :) There it goes..it's always like that, most of the designs i produced was from repairing some mistakes i did ..! So don't be afraid to make mistakes, it's your best teacher.. :D

This is the order that has kept me busy for 4 solid days...the whole process was so tiring, my back is really aching now :( my husband adviced me not to accept anymore cookies order after seeing me moody & tired while completing this 600pcs =P , everyday from morning till night (it's such a slow process! or maybe i jer kut yg macam kekura?)

i've done it all by myself , 40 recipes with 40pcs of butter in 4 days..i can only do 10 recipes a day from mixing, cutting out the cookies, baking and packing. it wasn't as easy as i thought it'll be, everything need to be handled with extra care or the cookies can be broken due to it's large size..! my maid could only assist me with ribbon cutting , can't rely on her to even doing the packing :( huhuhu such an eyesore to see untidy ribbon..!

I lurve making cookies, but only in small batch and i love seeing them beautifully decorated..so next time, i'll only accept orders for 'Special Cookies'... only jobs that i would enjoy making..

Now all i need is a nice H.O.L.I.D.A.Y .. ! huaaaaaa.....!

Thomas The Tank Engine Cake

5 times enlarged from that little model..I have to bake 4 kg of chocolate cakes..

I combined fondant with buttercream..yes it's more difficult as i keep on touching the cream while placing the fondant detailings..!

Quite happy to get that facial expression of Thomas..

I don't normally accept last minute order, but for this particular one i was really in a dilemma..it's now or never..i'd say that this is one of the hardest cake for me..! Alhamdulillah i managed at last, after few days of studying 'Thomas'..Just can't explain how nervous i am after accepting this order..Can't really sleep in peace...Am still nervous now come to think about it's condition after being transported to D'sara..Will it survive tomorrow's journey to Emran's school? The feedback??

Ada diantara karya yang diadaptasi daripada buku & majalah, olahan daripada inspirasi karya rakan2 flickr & bloggers, hasil angan-angan dan ilham persekitaran..

Setahun sudah masa berlalu, begitu pantas..Syukur Alhamdulillah, ChiqueCakes genap setahun berada di alam cyber hari ini..Saya sendiri tidak pernah menyangka dunia baking& decorating akan menjadi gelanggang permainan saya,mencari rezeki dari hasil titik peluh dan perahan idea, dalam tidur dalam jaga tak kira waktu semua yang saya lihat akan dijadikan ilham..(husband pun dah letih, thank u for ur understanding dear ;P)

Saya hanya menyertai kelas basic decorating oleh Kak Ayu (Loveliana) pada akhir April 2008..sebaik habis berpantang anak ke-4..Sejak hari itu saya tidak pernah lagi menoleh ke belakang, ilmu yang dipelajari saya praktikkan terus..terima kasih pada rakan sekelas Aimi & Rani yang mengenalkan saya kepada bisnes maya :-) Saya mengembangkan bakat hanya dengan menggali ilmu dari buku2 dan internet. Kadang2 sampai lewat malam saya di depan pc atau bereksperimen.. Saya tidak pernah menghadiri mana2 kelas fondant, rasanya lebih 'thrill' mencuba sendiri, diakui memang bukan setiap kali buat terus menjadi..saya juga banyak melalui episod kegagalan..tapi disebabkan ada 'passion&patience' alhamdulillah hasilnya mampu membuat saya tersenyum..

Adat belajar, ketika ilmu didada masih begitu cetek , diawal pembabitan saya banyak terpengaruh dengan hasil karya bakers yang lain..sedikit demi sedikit saya berusaha mencari rentak sendiri..saya dapat rasakan kini saya mulai mencapai satu tahap dimana mampu menghasilkan karya yang datang dari hati.. buktinya saya rasa begitu 'attached' dengan karya2 yang saya hasilkan, melihat balik koleksi ChiqueCakes, saya bersyukur dan berpuas hati, tapi bukan bererti saya selesa berada di zon ini sahaja..InsyaAllah saya akan terus mencari ilmu untuk memajukan diri, mencipta kelainan...I believe that there's no shortcut to success! (ni anna ler ni :-D) Lagi banyak liku2 yang terpaksa dilalui, lagi banyak pengalaman yang dikutip. Saya sanggup mengorbankan $$ ,masa & tenaga untuk mendapatkan ilmu dan ilham, apa yang diperoleh dengan cara payah begini lebih bernilai dan saya hargai daripada hasil mencungkil rahsia atau tips mendeco daripada orang lain., saya segan korek kelebihan bakers lain, walaupun dengan teman rapat..cuba sendiri sampai dapat itu prinsip saya selama ini..bukan ego atau sombong tapi hormat.. Masing2 telah Allah kurniakan akal fikiran sendiri jadi saya rasa wajarlah digunakan semaksimum mungkin. Betul idea dan ilham datang daripadaNya, tapi saya kini sedar bahawa hasil intelektual itu merupakan aset penting perniagaan yang diperoleh dari usaha gigih, bukan datang percuma.Saya juga banyak mendapat inspirasi daripada hasilkerja orang lain, tapi saya cuba olah kembali...(Kak Wiz said to me "From what I have seen on your blog, you do have your own way of decorating. I do not spot any of my ideas there", walaupun saya banyak mendapat inspirasi dari ciptaan kreatif beliau) Bagi saya, hasil karya ini bukan semata-mata untuk tujuan bisnes tapi akan menjadi koleksi peribadi hasil seni/ artwork yang akan tersimpan lama didalam 'ChiqueCakes' Archive', satu kepuasan bagi saya, InsyaAllah'.. Although she asked for the simplest deco, i'm having a hard time decorating this one becoz the combination of colours requested is 'sooo not me'...arggghh purple + orange on black? maybe the result can be much nicer if i change it to pastel buttercream..hmmm..but of course choc ganache is the best frosting for chocolate moist cake.

Saya ingin bercerita sikit tentang tragedi yang menimpa cake ini pada sabtu lepas. "Owhh..it's not a dream anymore"...kata2 Sara betul2 buat saya longlai.. Cake yg diharapkan dapat menggembirakan Sara telah musnah dalam perjalanan menghantarnya ke kediaman Dang Suria dalam cuaca tengahari panas terik..mula2 castle bergegar-gegar di atas krim, kemudian layer cake atas teranjak sikit2...dan setibanya cake didepan rumah, castle itu dah tumbang macam tanah runtuh..! saya sedih, risau, gementar tak terkata..diberi peluang utk repair cake on the spot tapi dah tak dpt diselamatkan lagi... kali pertama kejadian macam ni berlaku, terkena pulak pada cake yang di tempah oleh personatiti tv yg dikenali ramai...tak tahu nak cerita lagi, sampai hari ni saya masih sedih disebabkan kejadian ni..i don't care about the money or all the effort put onto this cake, tapi perasaan dan harapan pelanggan...banyak yang saya pelajari hari itu..tambah memburukkan hari saya, kereta rosak pulak lepas deliver kek ke Subang Jaya...menapak lah saya dengan baby & anak2 kecik lagi 2 orang menuju ke stesen petronas yg boleh tahan jauhnya sambil hubby menunggu kereta rosak di tepi jalan bersama Zaira....dugaan....

Kegagalan dan pengalaman buruk yang memang dijangka terpaksa saya tempuhi dalam usaha mendaki tangga kejayaan di bidang ini..pengalaman ini lebih mahal bagi saya, kerana selepas ini saya akan lebih bijak dan berhati-hati untuk mereka sesebuah kek dengan mengambilkira semua aspek yang barangkali telah terlepas pandang..

Just ordinary no special deco choc moist cake requested by my neighbour Makcik Sakinah..The special cake that had brought me into this lil baking bussiness 2 years ago. Oh yes, despite of it's plain ordinary look it's actually my best selling cake until today. The cake texture is very soft and not too sweet and best frosted only with this delicious soft ganache. For decorated/ fondant cake i would suggest a rich dark chocolate cake, which is richer in taste but firmer in texture.

Ordered by Jimi for her twins daughter's 2nd birthday ..I had to rush back from kampung to make these cakes on 2nd day raya...All of them were rich chocolate cakes..The 2 tier cake were frosted with buttercream and decorated with sugarpaste..those big butterflies were too heavy..luckily they survived! I felt so relieved when i received Jimi's feedback the next day saying that everyone loves the cakes..not only the look but more important the taste are really satisfying... thank you so much Jimi..!

Pink & White Girlish theme cuppies to accompany the 2 tier Birthday Cake

Rich Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Cake with buttercream frosting and fondant toppers..It took me one whole day to deco these cakes and cuppies as i didn't prepare the sugarpaste flowers much earlier..Only those butterflies which i did on the night before..
Jaja wanted the cakes to be frosted with buttercream and deco with sugarpaste, owwhh dear...it's not easy to get a smooth finish like fondant..and i really hope that the decorations will stay in place safely untill it reached Jaja's house tomorrow..especially when i 'll have to deliver them in the hot sunny afternoon...!

I love this simple chocolate moist cake, it taste even better after 24hrs out from the oven, more delicious with the buttercream even if it's just out from the refrigerator..For those who prefers lighter but chocolatey moist cake, this one here is for you..I have 2 other chocolate cake version : rich dark chocolate cake & rich moist choc cake...all 3 are my family's favourite..!

Odered by Ena for her daughter Khadeeja who will turn 3..This was actually my first try on image transfer..My head was blank when i did dis as all of my 4 kids were sick, i was rushing with other cupcakes order and juggling between household work..so this is the result, which i believe i could actually do better..Thanks Ena..

Received this photo today morning....really happy to see their smiling faces, nothing more i can say than alhamdulillah, it was a huge success for me and my mother..i was told that the ceremony monday morning went smoothly as planned, everybody's happy with the giant cake....and most importantly they like the taste of our dark chocolate cake inside..

SAMSUNG - CORPORATE CAKE

I've done some major changes to my original design at the last minute actually, since the focal point of the cake is the corporate logo, i decided to cancel using the edible image ordered but to create the logo with fondant instead so it stands out better..corporate cake should have the clean look image with very minimal design and colors.

Alhamdulillah, finally me and my mom managed to do this giant corporate cake size 20"x30" (approx. 30kg) . The company will be celebrating their grand opening ceremony on monday morning. This was a daunting task for me and my mom, 2 weeks of research here and there asking opinion from experts on how to lay the extremely large piece of fondant safely onto the cake. At last using our own theory and method we successfully did this. Not an easy job for an amature like us..but my mom said, once u've accepted the challenging task, just be confident with urself, if u think it's difficult then difficult it'll be ...... thank you mak, for all your support and motivations..!

Ordered by Ms. Swan from MAA for a wedding hantaran, my camera doesn't do justice to it.. the heart is actually in dark purple but it turned out to be black in this pic..
